The National Literacy Agency in collaboration with The Malta Trust Foundation, organizes the National Readathon initiative between March and June of each year. The aim of the Readathon is to foster a love for reading among children, while nurturing in them a sense of solidarity with their peers through reading for pleasure. The funds collected are used to purchase personalised assistive devices for non-verbal children on the autism spectrum and children who are blind or visually impaired. This initiative is organised with the support of Malta Public Transport.
