Was steht da? Vienna, Austria

“Was steht da?” is an Austrian based collective impact network, bringing together actors engaged with early childhood literacy from various sectors of society. This includes kindergartens and daycare centres, programs addressing families, the publishing industry, the public sector, civil society, as well as academia.

Collective impact does not require everyone to be doing the same thing. Instead, our goal is an ecosystem of diverse actors that operate based on a united vision, a common agenda and a shared impact measurement system.

“Was steht da?” was initiated by Christine Nöstlingers Buchstabenfabrik, an organization representing the artistic and literary estate of Christine Nöstlinger, the late Austrian children’s book author. The Things We Learn functions as a backbone organisation.

“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.”
