The nominations for the 2025 ALMA Award have been announced, and the Youth Literature Award Uprisen is among the nominees from Norway.
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is the world’s largest prize for children’s and young adult literature. It is awarded to individuals or organisations that contribute to the significance of literature for children and young people. Uprisen – Youth Book of the Year project by Foreningen !les has been nominated for the third time.
Uprisen is a unique and important award, both for young readers and Norwegian youth literature. We are incredibly proud that Uprisen has been nominated for ALMA for the third time,” says Vibeke Røgler, Director of Foreningen !les. – “Uprisen is a national literature award that involves young readers across the country. It is carried out in collaboration with Foreningen !les, the Norwegian Festival of Literature, and The Cultural Schoolbag (Den kulturelle skolesekken). The award facilitates and highlights young people’s opinions, so this nomination largely belongs to our partners and the young readers themselves.

The winner of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award will be announced at the 2025 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
