The National Library of Latvia established on 1919 is a state cultural institution of national importance, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to facilitate continual education and growth of the Latvian society, strengthening independence and democracy in Latvia.
For over thirty years, the National Library of Latvia has been implementing national reading promotion programs, engaging more than 30,000 participants annually.
